KBB.zone ("we", "us", "our") is a product discovery and price comparison website for the UK kitchen, bathroom and bedroom industry. We operate as a data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

We collect the following categories of data:

Anonymous session data: A randomly generated session ID stored in your browser's localStorage. This contains no personal information and cannot identify you.
Usage data: Pages visited, products viewed, affiliate links clicked — linked only to your anonymous session ID, not to you personally.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer URL — collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) and analytics services.
Account data (if you register): Email address, business name, postcode — only if you create a showroom or brand account.

3. How We Use Your Data

To display products and personalise your browsing experience
To track affiliate link clicks for commission accounting (anonymous session only)
To improve our product catalogue and site functionality
To prevent fraud and abuse
To comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

Legitimate interests — anonymous analytics and affiliate tracking to operate and improve the service
Contract performance — processing account data if you register as a showroom or brand
Consent — non-essential cookies, where required under PECR
Legal obligation — where required by law

5. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Retailers

KBB.zone earns commission when you click a retailer link and make a purchase. When you click through to a retailer (e.g. Tap Warehouse, Bathroom City), that retailer's own privacy policy governs any data they collect. We share only an anonymous click reference — never your name, email, or any personal data.

We are a member of the Awin affiliate network. Awin may set cookies on retailer sites you visit via our links. See Awin's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Supabase — our database provider (EU/UK data hosting)
Vercel — our hosting provider (processes server logs)
Awin — affiliate network (anonymous click data only)
Law enforcement — if required by a valid legal request

8. Data Retention

Anonymous session and click data: 24 months
Account data: for the duration of your account plus 6 years (legal requirement)
Server logs: 90 days

9. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

Erasure — request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
Restriction — limit how we process your data
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
